Summary
Serve as a catalyst / resource / enabler for midstream plant & compressor station construction projects, owned and operated by midstream service providers, but intended to serve Range. This position will not directly supervise or manage the construction or operations activities, but is responsible to review and assist in developing plans, monitor construction activities in order to ensure online schedules are met, improve/shore up timelines to the extent possible, minimize costs of systems under construction, and monitor & make recommendations to improve plant performance. Excellent people skills and a team player are a necessity.
Experience with managing hydrocarbon or chemical processing plant construction and operation is key. Familiarity with the overall project development process is helpful - scoping & concept development, permitting, system sizing, material procurement & contractor commitments, commissioning, operation , and optimization.
This position will support multiple projects simultaneously from time to time. Provides leadership, mentors, teaches, and coaches personnel on the implementation and planning teams. Actively participates in meetings representing the midstream group. This position also coordinates plant and compression construction efforts with other construction groups and operations groups: marketing, drilling & completions operations, land department, permitting groups, and other Range personnel and contractors. Ensures that projects are completed within scope, on budget, and on time.
Responsibilities may include:
Serve as a resource to Range midstream service providers
Plan, coordinate, witness, inspect the construction, testing and commissioning of plant expansions and compressor stations by RRC midstream providers
Oversee pipeline plant/compression projects from start to finish, assist with planning, scheduling, and coordinate efforts with other affected groups
Review budget estimates & bids by midstream providers and track project cost
Conduct regular team meetings - Range & Midstream providers
Track plant and compression performance and make recommendations for improvement, including regular reporting
Maintain excellent team chemistry, serve as a strong motivating team player, understand how to leverage the capabilities and knowledge of various team members
Capable of identifying and leveraging project champions and key players; excellent interpersonal skills
Participate in continuous improvement efforts and be willing to recommend and accept change as required to support a rapid corporate growth plan
Identify, correct, and prevent problems
Read and understand design drawings and layout drawings
Assists with the identification of new plant and compressor site locations
Requirements:
Required Experience:
• BS in Chemical Engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience; Oil and Gas experience required
Skills:
Knowledgeable of general permit requirements, etc
Strong on-site management skills - plant construction and union contractors
Direct experience in managing plant construction and operations
Experience in construction of FERC/DOT regulated systems
Strong project management skills
Strong organizational skills / attention to detail / ability to multi task several priorities and project responsibilities
Good time management
Strong interpersonal and communications skills to deal with vendors and construction team members
Self-motivated team player
Safety minded and willingness for receiving both required and ongoing mandatory safety training as a condition of employment
Intermediate: Microsoft office, MS Project, Hysys software skills.
