Description
Husky Energy is seeking a highly motivated Drilling & Completions Planning Engineer to join its Drilling and Completions (D&C) team located in St. John's, NL.

This position will support the growing Drilling and Completions scope outside of the current well programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for inputs, interfaces and deliverables related to future subsea and platform developments.

Specific responsibilities will include:

Developing project base well function specifications
Project Feasibility Analysis and Economics
Liaising with Geological and Geophysical team members, and Subsea project team members
Analyzing and making recommendations on the appropriate use of new technologies to enhance drilling and completion operations
Developing scoping level time and cost estimates, and scoping level drilling and completion designs
Interacting with service companies on current and new technology initiatives
Participating as a member of the Emergency Response Team, as assigned, which may require carrying a pager/cell phone and be on call

Requirements:
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and competencies:

A university undergraduate degree in a relevant engineering discipline
Member in good standing or eligible for registration with Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL)
1-3 years of experience in drilling and completions offshore development engineering
Extensive knowledge and expertise in well construction design and operations
Knowledge and experience in drilling, completions, and intervention design and operations with the ability to interface within a multi-disciplinary setting
A good working knowledge of the following:
Casing Design
Tubular Stress Analysis
Torque/drag
Completion Operations
Slickline Operations
Subsea Horizontal Xmas trees
Subsea Systems
Subsea Well Interventions

The following qualifications and competencies would be considered assets:

Experience using Stress Check and Wellcat software
Collaborative experience with subsurface and subsea disciplines
Strong analytical and problem identification skills combined with the ability to recommend practical solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office
A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team, and with others outside of the formal organization to achieve goals

Medical (Physical) Requirements/Standards:

May be required to occasionally travel/work offshore, therefore obtaining and maintaining medical clearance as well as the necessary training is required.
