Description:
Enbridge Energy Company, Inc., a leader in crude oil and natural gas transportation, gathering and processing, is currently seeking a Contractor, Cost Analyst at the Superior, WI location.


Responsibilities




This is a Contractor position.

As the intermediate level of the construction project management family the focus of this position is to take on increasingly challenging assignments that support business unit requirements, e.g., providing cost control/schedule and project management accounting support and developing an understanding of the enterprise’s document management procedures and system throughout the planning, design, procurement, construction and start-up stages of the project lifecycle within assigned engineering and construction units.

Specific Accountabilities:
• Provides intermediate level project management/cost control support to assigned project engineering and construction units by:
• acting as a champion of consistent usage of the enterprise’s cost management standards and participating in keeping the standards current
• producing real time project cost information, e.g., Time & Material and Lump sum committed vs. billed
• administering Work Order processes, e.g., status reporting, creating the Work Order in Oracle Financials, investigating and occasionally creating Work Order requests, liaison with Law for information on Service Agreements, obtaining approval of Work Orders, retrieving signatures from Vendors/Contractors, issuing non-standard agreements in conjunction with Contracts Administrator, etc.
• understanding, maintaining and communicating project cost standards and processes, e.g., communicating with field inspectors and contractors to ensure financial control processes are current and correct
• liaison with Accounts Payable to ensure enterprise accounting standards are met, e.g., Authorities and Spending Limits, audit guidelines/SOX requirements
• assisting, directing and training junior team members with other project administration duties as required
• assisting with studies of continuous improvement of the enterprise’s supply chain management cost control systems and processes

Requirements:
Qualifications



• Technical/business College diploma or University degree or related construction or operational training and/or experience
• Two to four years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Some post-secondary accounting training an asset
