Description:
General Description includes process design and analysis of an assigned scope of work in a CB&I project including specific complex deliverables such as conceptual process design, process simulations, heat and material balances, P&ID and PFD development. Work includes, among other things, conceptual studies, cost and planning studies, layouts, design calculations and equipment and material specification. Is able to effectively communicate technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers. Mentors junior Process Engineers and depending on size and complexity of scope of work may be assigned as the Process Engineering Lead for a project. Maintains and promotes a focus on CB&I’s end product whether engineering, fabrication or construction. Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines. Ensures effective management of change. Assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, quantity and budget control.



Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:



Prepare technical engineering and construction specifications.
Prepare and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, layouts and other visual aids.
Draft customized solutions for clients in close cooperation with R&D.
Supervise implementation of technology improvements at client site and validate experimental results.
Support clients during engineering, construction, commissioning and start-up including support on-site.
Supervise contractor personnel including personnel dispatch, schedule, tasks, costs and compensation.
Data evaluation for trouble shooting of customer plant operation.
Supports the client in communication with equipment vendors.
Conduct surveys to gather field data.
Act as consultant for internal/external customers.
Provide technical presentations internally and to clients.
Define, propose and execute projects with Novolen licensees within technical support.
Prepare engineering analysis of projects to include: preliminary design, calculations, life cycle cost, profitability estimation and equipment selection.
Perform process engineering duties surrounding the following: mechanical devices, components, motors and actuators, environmental control, conveying equipment, materials handling and extruders.
Perform chemical engineering duties like: thermodynamics and reaction engineering.
Conceptual design and lay-out of powder/pellets handling equipment.
Support project controls with regard to man-hour evaluation, cost tracking and scope/deliverables definition.
Organize and execute training for licensees.
Acts as responsible counterpart in all safety related matters.

Requirements:
Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in the science or engineering field with a degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred).
