Position Overview

The operating plant requires an individual to manage all engineering and technical documents so that changes are executed safely and vital company information is manage in an appropriated manor.

The Document Control Technician will be accountable to the Drafting & Document Control Lead for top quality, timely and cost effective document and records management and safeguarding appropriate technical records through application of systems that ensure conformance to standards, procedures and guidelines. All responsibilities below refer to technical and engineering documents and records only unless otherwise stated.
Job Duties & Responsibilities

Provide support for in-house engineering construction projects;
Support change management process including issuing of controlled documents;
Track signature loop to ensure drawings are reviewed and approved in a timely manner;
Maintain and periodically update internal specifications to latest revisions;
Upload into EDMS system (Smart Plant Foundation);
Manage document change process including tracking and issuing of controlled document numbers and revisions.
Maintain drawings and documents on Electronic Drawing Management System, ensuring latest revision is posted and accessible;
Archive historical drawings as required;
Secure and restrict proprietary drawings;
Records Management Responsibilities:
Organize and maintain the Operations Library, Control Room & Permit Trailer documentation.
Categorize, sort and file hard copy documents using the Corporate filing system;
Index hard copy files in Versatile Enterprise;
Assist clients with their request by retrieving electronic or hard copy documentation from its respective source;
Identify non-active documents and package them for transfer to inactive storage;

Requirements:
Education & Experience

Records Management Diploma
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Document Control in the Oil & Gas Industry.
Experience with Autocad/Microstation would be an asset.
Computer applications experience with, MS Office, is mandatory;
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel a must.
Expert knowledge of drawing management and drawing image management systems is required
Smart Plant Foundation.
Good interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision is a must
Extensive knowledge of records/information management principles
Working experience with File Classifications
Experience managing engineering and other technical records
Working knowledge with Records Management software (Versatile Enterprise).
